The Idea
What if a portfolio wasn't a page. It was a desktop? Sabrina OS started from a simple question: what happens when you take the blank creative canvas of Lovable AI and hand it a nostalgic vibe from the year 2000?
The answer: folders, .exe files, Minesweeper, Yahoo! Messenger, and a Start menu that actually works.
What It Is
Sabrina OS is a fully interactive portfolio disguised as a Windows 2000 desktop. Instead of sections and scroll, visitors navigate by double-clicking icons, opening "My Projects" like a folder, reading "About Me.txt" like a text file, and accidentally clicking DO_NOT_OPEN.exe.
The whole thing runs in the browser. The teal gradient wallpaper, the taskbar, the pixel-perfect window chrome, all designed to feel like 2000 just opened on your screen.
Built with Lovable AI
This project was an exploration of what Lovable AI can do when you give it a strong creative brief and step back. I described the aesthetic (Windows 2000, teal desktop, icons, taskbar) and iterated through prompts until the experience felt genuinely nostalgic, not just themed.
The experiment wasn't just about building something fun. It was about understanding where AI-assisted design tools are genuinely useful and where human taste and direction still drive the output.
Outcome
Sometimes the best way to learn a new tool is to use it for something completely unnecessary.
Sabrina OS lives at sabrinaorban.lovable.app: still running, still nostalgic, still has Minesweeper.
