Reality Dating App: Season 001

Blind: Would you fall for someone you've never seen?

Overview

Blind started from a simple question: what if a dating app removed the thing everyone judges first? No photos. No swiping on faces. Just 12 strangers, one week, and the slow reveal of who someone actually is before you ever see them.

The idea: the app is the show. You're not watching a reality dating show. You're in it, from your phone, wherever you are.

The Format

The experience unfolds in five stages, each unlocking a new layer of the person on the other side:

01 TEXT: Meet through conversation. No photos, no profiles. Just words.

02 VOICE: Hear their voice for the first time.

03 PHOTO: Finally see who you've been talking to.

04 VIDEO: Go on a real video date.

05 THE CHOICE: Choose who you want to leave the show with.

The Casting

You don't just download Blind. You audition for it. Every applicant goes through an AI casting interview designed to surface personality, communication style, and chemistry potential, not a checklist.

1,000 people can apply. 12 get cast.

The interview asks things like: "Tell me about the last person you really fell for." "What's something you find incredibly attractive that most people don't?" "What's your biggest red flag?" The AI listens for how people think and communicate, not just what they say.

What I built

LANDING PAGE: Designed and coded the full landing page: dark, editorial, high-concept. Anton + Fraunces italic for tension between bold and romantic. The copy does the work: "Would you fall for someone you've never seen?"

APPLICATION SYSTEM: Built the casting flow: application form, AI interview, audio/photo submission handling, and a waitlist system.

ADMIN PANEL: Full season management backend: casting room to review applicants, accept or reject them, manage the active season, and control the progressive reveal timeline.

INTERACTION INTERFACE: Currently building the core show experience: the in-app chat, voice, and video interface where the season actually takes place. This is where the five stages unfold for the cast in real time.

TECH: Vanilla HTML, CSS, JavaScript on the frontend. Node.js backend. Built fast, by hand, to test the concept before committing to a full framework.
